You’re Invited to a Free Sneak Preview
of Ken Burns’ THE NATIONAL PARKS!
WGVU is proud to announce the premiere of the newest Ken Burns documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea”, a six-part series, debuting on WGVU-TV on September 27th
Filmed over the course of six years in some of nature’s most spectacular locales — from Acadia to Yosemite, Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades of Florida to the Gates of the Arctic in Alaska — the documentary is a story of people from every conceivable background — rich and poor; famous and unknown; soldiers and scientists; natives and newcomers; idealists, artists and entrepreneurs; people who were willing to devote themselves to saving some precious portion of the land they loved, and in doing so reminded their fellow citizens of the full meaning of democracy.
We’d like to invite you to attend a free one-hour Sneak Preview of The National Parks. The preview itself is approximately 45 minutes, and will be followed by a brief talk with Park Rangers from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Group reservations are also available. Please RSVP to 616-331-6526, or gordonbr@gvsu.edu
