Mrs. & Mrs. H. worked with John Monterusso to purchase their 2012 Monaco Knight 40PDQ Class A Diesel Motor Home from American RV in Grand Rapids, MI.
“We can not say enough how well we were treated by John Monterruso and the rest of the people at American RV. We learned more from John about RV’s in 15 minutes than from an entire day’s worth of time spent at another dealer. It was nice to have someone more worried about helping you understand the product he was selling, than trying to push a quick sale. After having our learning experience with the folks at American RV, it was easy to make the decision to go back there to purchase our first RV.
The folks that helped get our RV ready to go, were also very helpful. We decided to install a satellite before taking the RV home. They quickly figured out what we needed, had it in stock, and installed it while we waited. We were very pleased with the quickness and quality of the installation.
We are already planning our first trip for mid December to Houston. Can’t wait to take to the road.
I would not change a thing about our experience with American RV. We are confident we made the right choice in our dealer. We have many dealers much closer, with honestly more RV’s on the lot. But if you want to be treated like a person instead of a number, American RV is the place. We also feel confident that when our RV needs service, we will be treated just as well.

”We were very pleased with every visit to American RV right from the start and the several times we went back out there to look again. When we first met Jim Snyder we felt comfortable with him right from the start. He was great. I emailed him with a quick question one night thinking I would just check my email sometime the next day, and he called me with an answer within the hour of sending the email. We were always treated very nice by all the staff out at American RV. We never had a negative “vibe” at any time, the several times we went there to look again at the 2 – 3 units we were really interested in. Jim even suggested that we come out and actually pull the unit around with our truck to see if we felt comfortable with it’s size (It had been a few years since we had an RV). We really appreciated being able to do that, and that helped us make a decision. We were working with another RV dealer and did not get the same great “vibe” from that place, although it was nothing easy to put my finger on, it just was not American RV.

When we pulled the trailer that Saturday, I was impressed big time with Matt who got the hitch set up. It was Matt who did our walk thru the day we picked it up and he did a great job, what a great bunch of employees you have out there. Then there were the people from Camping World who helped us. What nice helpful people there as well. So I mean I cannot say a bad thing. American RV was all the way around a pleasure to work with, and I would insist to anyone I know that is considering the purchase of an RV, or to get RV supplies, go to American RV. We are so glad we bought our RV there, and that you had the choices you did for us to pick from.
American RV is tops all the way around. Every time we came back out to look at campers we were impressed by everything we saw, and the people were always friendly, always greeted us with enthusiasm and always first class in very way!! Great experience!!!!!”

James worked with Scott Jewell to purchase his 2012 Springdale Summerland 2980BH Travel Trailer and had the following to say about his experience:
” We spent one full day shopping at multiple RV dealerships for both new and used units. We had Contact with salesman Scott Jewell. From the beginning, we found Scott to be very professional and courteous. We always fear the “salesman” contact when we shop for cars/campers. Scott did not live up to this “fear” at all. He was down to earth and had an interest in what we were looking for. We felt Scott was always honest and looked out for our best interest throughout, even suggesting things we never thought of or didn’t think were possible. Not only would I recommend your dealership, I would send friends/family directly to Scott without hesitation. We decided to purchase our camper from your dealership because we felt we were getting the best deal from your company. We also felt the most comfortable with your dealership. The process of purchasing our camper was extremely smooth and everyone with your dealership were helpful and courteous during multiple phone calls during the process. Our “walk through” after purchasing our camper was completed with Tony. He continued the professionalism we had experienced throughout. He was very helpful and educated on the unit. If he did not know the answer, he was quick to obtain the answer for us.”

Hi Robert,
As you know, Pam and I purchased a Roadtrek 210 Popular from you back in October of last year. The weather turned cold before we had an opportunity to use it. Our “maiden voyage” was in January when we took a 6 week trip traveling 7400 miles out West without having any opportunity to become familiar with our new RV. When you make a major purchase such as this, there is always that thought, “Did we make the right decision”? There is no doubt that we made the right choice. We have never had an RV before and this camping stuff was all new to us. I was concerned if I really knew what I was doing, etc. only to find out that I didn’t. I ended up calling the Service Department at American RV several times while on our trip and talked to Kirk. Each time he was extremely patient with me and extremely helpful. He made sure that I was comfortable in calling him again if I had any questions. I couldn’t have been more pleased with Kirk and your Service Department. Another concern was with the amount of storage in our Roadtrek for an extended trip like that. (We never seem to leave anything behind, if you know what I mean!!) We had plenty of storage room with extra to spare. Our Roadtrek handled remarkably well. We were able to drive into downtown areas of major cities and see sights that we wouldn’t have been able to see with a larger RV. All in all, we are delighted with our new Roadtrek and American RV, had a wonderful time on our trip, and are looking forward to our next adventure! Thanks for everything!

We also want you and your employees to knwo that our entire experience with American RV over the last 3 plus years has been very positive. Your sales and service departments are superior. They were sensitive to our situation and the distance we had to drive for service. There were a number of phone calls to Kirk during this time and he was always very patient. He took the time to make sure that our concerns were addressed properly.

Our thanks goes to Matt Olds and Win Merrill for a great experience. We knew which brand and model of camper we wanted and we started shopping price across the nation. Without any haggling Matt Olds beat everybody’s price by more than a thousand dollars. Win Merrill then obtained financing for us which also beat anything we could obtain locally. When we arrived at their beautiful dealership, our camper was parked inside and had been fully prepped. They walked us through all the camper features and made sure we were comfortable with how everything worked. We would recommend Matt Olds and American RV to everyone. We know that any future rv purchases we make will be made at American RV. Thanks Matt.
